While all of that storytelling would be undone upon the release ofAlien 3 , it was , for a time , the original franchise canyon – and the most disgraceful part of the amusing series was the literal destruction of Earth .

InAliens : Earth Warby Mark Verheiden and Sam Kieth , Hicks and an adult Newt are reunited with Ripley for the first sentence since they all live on into cryosleep at the end ofAliens . As it turns out , while Newt and Hicks were send back to Earth to live their life history ( albeit miserably ) , Ripley was sent on another mission to LV-426 – this time to inquire the derelict ship from the first motion picture more soundly . While that foreign mission ended in bedlam , it at least ensure that Ripley was off - world long enough to remain safe from what pass off on the Earth ’s surface since her absence . In the Dark Horse Comics storylineAliens(which have seat correctly before this one),a Xenomorph beehive on Earththat was kept defend by military and scientific efforts was unleashed upon the world – and the Xenomorphs efficaciously took over the planet . So , at the start ofEarth War , Newt , Ripley , and Hicks are in a starship outside of Earth ’s reach , and their charge to save the major planet is already off to a passably dreaded starting – and things do n’t get much better from there .
Xenomorphs Ended the World, but They Weren’t Earth’s Greatest Threat
In the end , Ripley and the gang could only save a few blue-ribbon people they heard crying for assistant over their communicators as the Earth itself proved to be too far go . In an crusade to at least cleanse the existence of the Xenomorph scourge , nuclear bombs were detonated around the globe , which effectivelywiped out a great deal of the Xenomorphsbut did very little for the livability of the planet itself . However , while reseeding the Earth with sprightliness would have been a trouble for humans , there is one alien species out there with a use of doing just that : the Space Jockeys . In the previous comic series , Aliens , the Space Jockeys learned that Earth had Xenomorphs on its aerofoil , so they simply sat back and waited for the creatures to take over the planet before they swooped in , killed the host that remain , and terraformed the human race themselves as they have evidently done many times before .
Not only was Earthwiped out by Xenomorphsand then irradiated beyond human fix by atomic fire , but it was then taken over by a much more advanced life mannikin – eliminating the possibility of human beings recover command over the planet . As far as world were concerned , the Earth was completely fail and could never be thought of as their home base creation again – a truly grim outcome inAlien ’s original canyon .
