Vikings: Valhalla
Warning : spoilers for Vikings : Valhalla time of year 2 .
Vikings : Valhallaseason 2 enclose a new group of characters that accompanied Harald ( Leo Suter ) and Leif ( Sam Corlett ) on their trip to Constantinople , and among them was Kurya ( Tolga Safer ) , a unsighted Pecheneg , but the series changed his story . After the destruction of Uppsala and the invasion of Kattegat , Vikings : Valhallaseason 2 see Harald , Leif , and Freydis ( Frida Gustavsson ) running away and parting room once again , with Freydis go to Jomsborg and Leif and Harald traveling to Novgorod in hope of finding allies to go against Olaf ( Jóhannes Haukur Jóhannesson ) .
alas for Harald , his uncle , Yaroslav the Wise ( Marcin Dorociński ) , turn down to help him , so he fall up with a new architectural plan : jaunt to Constantinople , sell fur , and with that money make an USA tofight Olaf and claim the toilet of Norway . Harald forge a mathematical group with people from all backgrounds and with strong personalities to sweep to Constantinople , but so as to survive the trip , as their prominent obstacle were the Pechenegs , they postulate someone who fuck the road to Constantinople and also how the Pechenegs thought and acted , and that ’s how Kurya joined the group – but who was the real Kurya ?

The Real Kurya From Vikings: Valhalla Explained
Kurya , like many other characters inVikings : Valhalla , is based on a real - sprightliness person , but the series made many change to his fib in social club to fit the show ’s narration . The real Kurya wasa Pecheneg prince and khanwho was also an friend of the Grand Prince of Kiev , Svyatoslav I , in his campaign in the Balkans . Kurya is said to have made Svyatoslav ’s skull into a goblet , from which he and his wife drink and prayed for a son as intrepid as Kurya . InVikings : Valhalla , Kurya ’s story was very unlike , though he was also a Pecheneg . His brother had taken over his place as khan and hold his wife , blinded Kurya , and plunder and kill his married woman in his presence .
How Kurya’s Fate Will Impact Vikings: Valhalla Season 3
Kurya was primal to the success of Harald ’s journeying to Constantinople , as he not only guided him through the weewee and more , but he also sacrificed himself so the residual could escape . Once the khan arrive , Kurya get word this as his chance to avenge his wife ’s death , and through that , he also bought Harald and ship’s company more time so they could navigate away . Unfortunately , and even though the khan was defeated , his multitude avenged his death and repeatedly stabbed Kurya , with Leif throw an arrow to his heart to give him a merciful death . The Pechenegs now have an even bigger reason to go after Harald and Leif inVikings : Valhallaseason 3 as they burned their cantonment down and Kurya kill the khan , so even though Kurya is no longer around , Harald and Leifwill have to pay for what they all did .
