InTeenage Mutant Ninja Turtles#62 by Kevin Eastman , Bobby Curnow , Tom Waltz , and Dave Wachter , Raphael pull off to convince Michelangelo to come back to the Ninja Turtles following his old going away . before in the serial , Splinter inherit leadership of the Foot Clanafter he honorably killed the Shredder in combat , and when that happened , Michelangelo split from the group . Mikey could n’t reconcile being a part of the very organization they worked so firmly to destroy , even if his father was their new loss leader . In this issue , however , Raphael convert Mikey that thing really have changed with the Foot , and Michelangelo agrees to return – and almost immediately , he wishes he had n’t .
Michelangelo was the Only TMNT to See the Truth About the Foot Clan, & Splinter
The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles ’ first mission with Mikey back on the team has them infiltrating the penthouse - lair of a wealthy villain named Darius Dun . Dun had kidnaped the Turtles ’ scientist booster , Harold , and was trying to wedge him to do his bidding . So , it was up to the TMNT to deliver Harold and stop Dun before his nefarious plot come to realisation . The only thing , though , is that Splinter was the one who covertly gave Dun Harold ’s location to have an apology to take Dun down . Not only that , but after the Turtles were successful in rescuing Harold , Splinter say the executionof Dun , which was carried out right there in his penthouse – and in front of the TMNT themselves .
When Splinter had Dun killed , he proved to everyone that he had actually become the very thing he despised so much – essentially becoming the Shredder – and Michelangelo was the only one who could see it . Right when Splinter took over the Foot , he and everyone still loyal to him promised that thing would be unlike under his ruler , but Michelangelo have it off different . He knew that , if Splinter connect the Foot , then he would be deepen by the organisation rather than the other way around , and Michelangelo was proven right in the most brutal way possible – which , in turn , also proves thatMichelangelois thesmartest extremity of theTeenage Mutant Ninja Turtles .
