The Boys

time of year 2 ofThe Boysis vital for many reasons , not the least because it betoken the end of at least one theatrical role ’s bow : Homelander ’s boy , Ryan . The boy seems to be one of the few mass Homelander has unfeigned affection and loyalty for , though this is most potential because he see Ryan as an extension of his self . Each of them brings something to their bond , and for Ryan , Homelander is not just a father but also a superhero he has pass his life admiring .

Throughout its various season , The Boyshas proven time and again just how serious a mankind with supes is for those without superpowers of their own . At first , it seems as if there is at least some power to ensure the supes onThe Boysthat Vought has create , but they soon show that nothing can be done to control beings with tremendous powers . This is particularly rightful of Homelander , who seems to obey the rule only because it ’s in his salutary interests to do so ; he cares more for himself than for anything ( or anyone ) else .

Homelander’s Murder Of Stillwell Shows Nobody Is Safe

Homelander is one of the most sinister character inThe Boys , and his awful king and almost complete want of empathy also make him incredibly severe . At first , it seems as if Madelyn Stillwell is safe from his ire , as he has a deep ( and dysfunctional ) bond paper with her . Unfortunately , when he learns she has been hide his Word from him , he turn his laser eyes on her , bringing her spirit to an unpleasant end . Stillwell ’s death inThe Boysseason 1 was one of the most lurid bit in the former show . This could be a grown index of what Ryan ’s fate will be .

His deportment in the 2d season make it seem like he still has residuary tone for her . In peculiar , there ’s the reveal of his situation with Doppelganger , who transforms to look like Stillwell so Homelander can go on to indulge in his fantasy with her . It evoke that underneath it all , he had at least some genuine feelings for the woman herself . If he was willing and able to destruct someone he genuinely cared about , it further indicates that no one onThe Boys , no matter how near to Homelander they might be , can ever be safe from possible death .

Homelander’s Season 4 Arc Is The Most Dangerous For Ryan

He plays an integral part in Homelander ’s story , butRyan ’s office inThe Boysseason 4 will be perhaps the most dangerous for him . At the end of the third season , it seems that Ryan is whole on his father ’s side . However , as Homelander ’s murdering of Madelyn Stillwell makes clean-cut , there is nothing sealed about the out - of - controller supe ’s affections . If Ryan shows signs of turning against Homelander — which is potential , considering the extent to which he has also bond with Billy Butcher — then he may see the fate of Stillwell .

Ryan will have to expend most of Season 4 ofThe Boysthreading a very fine needle . He might still be comparatively youthful , but that does n’t think of he can afford to be overconfident regarding his human relationship with his father . However , The Boyshas also shown Ryanhas some of his father ’s inbuilt instability . In all likelihood , the two of these characters will be on a collision course , which could see one ( or both ) of them perish . AsThe Boyshas shown repeatedly , no character is ever really safe from death .
